Panaji (Goa): Aam Aadmi Party has named its candidate for Chief Minister of Goa, following the announcement of the party’s CM candidate for Punjab. Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP’s national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, will make the announcement of the party’s candidate for Goa Chief Minister during a press conference in Panaji today.
On Sunday, Kejriwal conducted a door-to-door campaign in the Goa village of Cortalim, where elections are scheduled to take place in February this year. The campaign saw Kejriwal and other party members interacting with voters in Cortalim as part of its outreach efforts. During the campaign, voter information pamphlets were distributed to the public.
Meanwhile, the battle for Goa is becoming increasingly heated ahead of the Assembly elections in 2022. Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has stated that the BJP will form a majority government in the Union Territory by winning at least 22 seats. CM Sawant, in an interview with ANI, stated, “For the first time in the state’s history, the BJP is contesting all 40 seats. I am confident that the BJP will be able to form a majority government. Our goal is to win at least 22 seats in the state legislature.” He went on to say, “In addition, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been in power for the past ten years. For the past three years, I have served as the country’s chief minister. We have initiated several development projects in the state over the course of many years, and the people of Goa are pleased with our efforts. Our supporters are ready to vote for us once more and bring us back to power.”
The elections for the Goa Assembly will take place on February 14. The results of the election will be announced on March 10.
