John Dutton and his family face the end of the road, as the main timeline of this epic story comes to a close. Here’s what you need to know about Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 release date, who will be in the cast, and what might happen in the final episode.

Taylor Sheridan’s cowboy empire is growing rapidly, but it all started with the central story of Yellowstone in 2018. After six years and 47 episodes, we’re now preparing for the final curtain, and while it will be sad to say goodbye to the Yellowstone cast, it feels like the timing is right.

However, there is a lot to think about in this grand finale. Will Kevin Costner return? Which characters from Yellowstone will live to see the end? And will Summer Higgins be able to convert the Duttons to veganism?

We’ve been able to gather a lot of information on the upcoming finale, so let’s take a look at everything we know so far about Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2.

When is the release date of Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2?

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will premiere in November 2024, but there is no exact date yet.

This is a very clear window for release, and it’s not too far away, which is great news. It’s also a big relief, because the writers’ and actors’ strike has almost completely derailed the show.

Part 2 was initially scheduled to shoot in August 2023, but it did not happen. The show is now set to resume filming in late spring 2024. It leaves a very difficult transition, but where there’s a will, Taylor Sheridan will find a way.

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Cast: Who’s in It?

Most of Yellowstone’s main players are almost confirmed to return for the final leg of the tour. Barring any complications, the cast will likely include:

The one notable exception on this list this time is Kevin Costner. It has not yet been confirmed whether Costner will continue his role as John Dutton

It is believed that Costner had a disagreement with Sheridan and Paramount over his contractual obligation to finish the show. There is now a very real possibility that he will either be out before the final episode, or not return at all due to this ongoing feud.

However, this may not be the end of the world, as we believe Yellowstone can thrive without John Dutton.

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Plot: What’s going to happen?

No plot summary has been released yet, but one storyline we expect to be central to the big finale is Beth and Jamie’s long-running feud coming to a head, with one or both of them probably Will be killed.

Another major plot point that needs attention is the fate of John Dutton. If Costner comes back, it’s almost certain that he’ll want to see his character in a very definite way. So, as painful as it may be, it’s more likely that we’ll see the head of the Dutton family tree meet its maker one way or another.

The Grim Reaper apparently spends a lot of time in Montana. So much so, that we were able to create a list of the 10 most shocking deaths in Yellowstone and still struggled to narrow it down. With Taylor Sheridan closing this chapter, we wouldn’t be surprised to see her kill some of her loved ones.

Apart from all the sadness, Kayce Dutton, his wife, Monica, and their son, Tate, could have had a happy ending. Keyes has made his priorities clear and insists that he is putting family first, and let’s not forget that Tate is the only true heir to the Yellowstone empire at this point.

Enemies are closing in from all sides, and the Dutts are sure to suffer casualties along the way. However, we suspect Sheridan will want to end things by giving the family a victory of sorts. As predicted in 1883, don’t be surprised to see Tate eventually unite Dutton and the Native Americans by sharing the land between them.

The final installment of Yellowstone will be available to watch weekly on Paramount+ upon release. The first episode will likely premiere on Paramount Network before arriving on the streaming service.

Reruns of Yellowstone have recently been shown on CBS, but it will likely be a while before the latest episodes are released there.
